Reveal Beauty Plastic Surgery

You’re weeks away from a better body with liposuction. As the surgery date gets closer, many patients start to worry about their recovery period. This guide will help you prepare now for a better recovery experience. Liposuction recovery won’t be the most pleasant thing you’ve ever done, but we think you’ll be surprised by how quickly you’re back on your feet and enjoying a better body after liposuction. Many patients are pleasantly surprised by how easy recovery is.

Give Yourself Plenty of Time

Most patients return to work just a few days after surgery, but don’t overdo it. Before your surgery, take several days off from work. It is always easier to return early than to try and get more time added onto your recovery period. Clear your schedule and take it easy. You’ll be back to your regular activities soon, give yourself time. We’ll give you a better idea of what to expect during your consultation.
Make sure you follow our recovery instructions closely and avoid exercise and strenuous activities for at least a week.

Have the Medications You Need Ready

We’ll give you detailed instructions about your recovery before and after surgery. We may ask you to take antibiotics and other medications. If you can, fill your prescriptions before surgery. You’re not going to want to run to the drugstore on the day after surgery to get your medications.
If you have pain, you can take pain medication. Most patients find that over-the-counter treatments are sufficient. Tylenol, naproxen, and ibuprofen are excellent options to have on hand. We’ll explain which medications are best to use and how to take them.

Get Help

You’ll need someone to drive you home after liposuction. Enlist a friend or family member to assist you in the early days after surgery. You’ll need someone in the home with you as you rest and someone to bring you to your appointment the day after surgery. Don’t expect to be able to do everything alone right after surgery. Arrange for help.

Know What to Expect

We want you to contact us if you if you have any questions during recovery or if you experience any unanticipated symptoms. Most patients experience:
• Bruising
• Swelling
• Discomfort
Swelling is the last symptom to go away. Some residual swelling may remain for several months after your surgery.
Get rid of unwanted fat with liposuction. Recovery isn’t always fun, but it is over quickly and your new body is worth the wait. Call today and schedule your liposuction consultation with Dr. Clinton.
